Each year Pantone selects a color that will get featured throughout our daily lives from home decor to product development — and even weddings! The Pantone Color of the Year 2021 is unique in that it is actually two colors, and we’re seeing both take the wedding industry by storm!
PANTONE COLOR OF THE YEAR 2021
Let’s talk about what those colors are and how you can expect to see them used in wedding style throughout the year.
What is the Pantone Color of the Year 2021?
The Pantone Colors of the Year are Illuminating Yellow and Ultimate Gray. That’s right, after 2020, this year called for two colors!
“The union of an enduring Ultimate Gray with the vibrant yellow Illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude. Practical and rock-solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a color combination that gives us resilience and hope,” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. “We need to feel encouraged and uplifted; this is essential to the human spirit.”
Much like Eiseman’s explanation showcases, these colors were chosen for their meanings.
Illuminating Yellow
Illuminating is a bright and cheerful yellow sparkling with vivacity, says Pantone. It is a warming shade that exudes solar power.
